There Has Been Born

December 2nd, 2005

In the darkness of night
There shined a holy light
Good tidings of great joy
To all people

O do not be afraid
For He came down to save
Good tidings of great joy
To all people

There has been born
There has been born
A Savior
He is Christ the Lord

The God who made the world
Humbled Himself to birth
Good tiding of great joy
To all people

The Lord who rules all things
Mankind’s salvation brings
Good tidings of great joy
To all people

There has been born
There has been born
A Savior
He is Christ the Lord

Glory to God in the highest
And on earth goodwill toward men
Behold the glory of the Father
That loved to save us from sin

There has been born
There has been born
A Savior
He is Christ the Lord

Tracknotes

Ty wrote this song in the summer of 2005. However, we knew that it would be best for a Christmas song. So we recorded it for December and started singing it in our youth group.

This song comes from Luke 2 where the angel is God’s messenger to the shepherds. At first the shepherds are afraid because the glory of God shines around them, but the angel tells them not to be afraid because he is bringing the good news of Jesus. He is then joined by a heavenly host who say, “Glory to God in the highest and on earth goodwill toward men.” We hope this song brings glory to God and encourages you each Christmas as you celebrate the fact that, “There has been born a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

Bobby n’ Ty you’ve created our new favorite Christmas song for 2005!Thanks-we totally needed a theme Christmas song for this year. I (Martha) have been studying in Genesis this fall so the words that stood out for me were “God who rules all things” and the “God who made the world.” Loved your clear voice Ty-it gives me spiritual goosebumps!! Keep on with your God-centered music guys. Love ya Maynard and Martha

    Hey Bobby and Ty!
Thank you so much for putting the “old songs” onto your website. I just figured a few weeks ago how to download your music onto my computer. Since then, I’ve given out several Godsong CDs to my friends and they all love it! Your music has brought me so much joy the past few months.
Thank you for your ministry and your dedication to Christ in all things. Your witness keeps me going.

ps: (This Christmas, my family and I are going skiing at Lake Tahoe. It will be my first time to ever set foot in beautiful California!)

I loved your song. Ty, I didn’t know about this creative side of you. We’re at the cabin and the connection isn’t that great, but I got to listen. Merry Christmas!

    Hi Ty,
I first heard this song, when viewing the on-line slide show of the H.S. group going to the Santa Monica Pier. It was the perfect background music. Was reminded of how precious our teens are and how blessed we are to have so many like you that really care for our kids. Thank you for using your talents to glorify God and bless us.
