By Grace To Glory
June 15th, 2005
By grace you’ve been saved
It’s a gift of God
A new way of life
And it’s not of works
There’s no boasting
Except in Jesus Christ
By grace you’ve been saved
All praise to Jesus
Who made us alive
Together we’re raised
All praise to Jesus
Whose great love won’t die
And He will complete
His good work begun in me
For He is gracious
O Lord, make me new
And I will follow
On His path before my feet
To see His glory
Lord, lead me to You
Lead me to You
Lead me to you
Father, we need Your love
And Your grace is enough
And You will complete
Your good work begun in me
For You are gracious
O Lord, make me new
And I will follow
And Your path before my feet
To see Your glory
Lord, lead me to You
Lead me to You
Lead me to You
Perhaps the first song we wrote with the intention of singing it in church. We sang it for the first time after a sermon I preached of the same name on Titus 2:11-14. The lyrics come from Ephesians 2, except for the first part of the chorus which is from Philippians 1:6. Notice the use of the “path” theme which is frequent for us and inspired by my Grandma Olsen who thought we should call ourselves “The Beautiful Path.” Ty and I recorded this song one night and were having such a good time we stayed up until 3 am. Then we took a drive around the block to listen to it in my car.
