All I Want For Christmas

December 23rd, 2006

What can I sing for You?
What can I bring to You?
You are the King and have it all

Jesus You are all I want for Christmas

The wise men from afar
They came to see Your star
They rejoiced in who You are

Jesus You’re the light that shines on Christmas

And there is nothing that this world can bring
That compares with Jesus Christ my King
God’s gift to me

So I will sing Your name
And I will bring You praise
For You came down to save us all

Jesus You are all I want for Christmas

The angels from on high
They brought good news one night
And Your glory filled the sky

Jesus You’re the light that shines on Christmas

And there is nothing that this world can bring
That compares with Jesus Christ my King
God’s gift to me

So I will worship You
I will worship You
I will worship Jesus Christ my King (x2)

What can I sing for You?
What can I bring to You?
You are the King and have it all

Jesus You are all I want for Christmas

Tracknotes

As December came again this year, Ty was inspired to write another Christmas song, but this time on the piano. This was the first song we’ve recorded in a long time and we did it a new way using the computer, so it was very exciting. We learned a lot through the process and are eager to do more songs to come.

This song comes from Matthew 2. Ty was thinking along the lines of bringing Christ a gift just like the wise men did. However, we realized that all we can give is what we have already received. In the end the only response we have is to worship Him…just like the wise men did.

The goal of this song is to keep our focus on Jesus. As Christians, He is all we want. There is nothing in this world that compares with Him. He is God’s gift to us and we should not let any other gift distract us from Him. We hope this song helps you worship Christ our King!

I enjoyed the song, very thought-provoking. Christmas can be a time when many people end up disappointed because they don’t get what they want. It’s a good time to remember that even when we enjoy what the world has to offer, it isn’t enduring. By next Christmas we may not even be able to remember what we got this Christmas! But if all we really want for Christmas is Christ, we will never be disappointed (Romans 10:11) Thanks for the encouragement!

In a world buried in materialism and consumerism, especially at Christmas time, what a poignant reminder that all we really need for Christmas, now and forever, is Jesus Christ, whom we honor and whose birth we celebrate this season. We were touched by this song and found it very pleasing to the ears and to the heart. The lyrics are great and the instumentals and vocals are awesome. A superb and creative composition. Merry Christmas. “For unto us a Savior is born!”

Fellas, thanks for the great Christmas tune. The piano progression is a great “base” for the song, the strings fit wonderfully, and the guitar is $$! (How many years did you take piano lessons, Ty?) I’m excited to hear further tracks…keep bringing the great tunes and lyrics. Praise the Lord for how you are using your gifts and time. – ak
